Dr. Kakacek is a Senior Director at the National office of the Epilepsy Foundation. She holds an MA in Non-Profit Management from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland and has received her PhD in Public Health from Walden University. She has over 10 years of experience in health education curriculum development, particularly in the areas of project management, social media, and dissemination. She manages the CDC programs of the Foundation, including school education programs for teens with and without epilepsy, training programs for school personnel and nurses, and the Foundation’s National Youth Council. Her research interests include developing new technologies and interventions to help people with chronic conditions improve their quality of life through improved self-management.
