Dr. Friedman is Professor of Neurology at NYU Grossman School of Medicine and Director of the NYU Langone Comprehensive Epilepsy Center. He is an adult epileptologist whose research focuses on the epidemiology and clinical risk factors for premature mortality in people with epilepsy as well as the development of novel diagnostics and therapeutics for the care of people with epilepsy. He works in collaboration with investigators at NYU and other institutions as well as industry partners. He has been an investigator in the NYU MEW Network Collaborating Center since its inception in 2014. Dr. Friedman received his MD from Case Western Reserve School of Medicine and completed a neurology residency at University of Pennsylvania and fellowships in translational epilepsy research and clinical neurophysiology at Columbia University.
