Dr. Devinsky is Professor of Neurology, Neuroscience, Neurosurgery and Psychiatry at NYU and directed the NYU Langone Comprehensive Epilepsy Center for 35 years. He has extensive clinical and research experience in behavioral and cognitive neurology, quality of life studies, functional and structural MRI studies, and health outcomes with epilepsy. He has collaborated with basic and cognitive neuroscientific colleagues for several decades in diverse animal and human studies. His contributions include: 1) innovative techniques to expand dissemination of information, 2) development of new scales used in >200 scientific studies (e.g., QOLIE-89, -31 and -10), 3) development of new tools and databases to support epilepsy research, 4) research on and inclusion of underserved groups, and 5) international collaborations and service to international scientific groups. He has been an investigator in the NYU MEW Network Collaborating Center since its inception in 2014. Dr. Devinsky received his MD from Harvard University and completed a neurology residency at New York Hospital and epilepsy/neurophysiology fellowship at the NIH.
