Dr. Spruill is Associate Professor of Population Health and Medicine at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine and core faculty in the NYU Langone Institute for Excellence in Health Equity. She is a clinical health psychologist with expertise in behavioral medicine and health disparities research. In two prior funding cycles of the MEW Network, Dr. Spruill led the adaptation of the UPLIFT program for Hispanic people with epilepsy and a trial comparing UPLIFT to a telephone-based support program. She is also conducting clinical trials testing remotely-delivered mindfulness-based interventions in people with hypertension and cardiovascular disease. Her research is funded by the CDC, National Institutes of Health, and American Heart Association. Dr. Spruill received her PhD in Clinical Psychology from Rutgers University and completed postdoctoral training in behavioral medicine at Duke University Medical Center and Columbia University Medical Center.
